“Please marry me.”
Having ascended from a beast to a mountain lord, Horang’s lowly origins meant he was disregarded by the other lords. None would associate with him or even say a word back when he tried to start up a conversation. Watching over his mountain in solitude—with a squirrel named Ttorang as his sole companion—one day a letter carrying words of marriage arrives, addressed to Horang.
Horang initially considers this a cruel joke, but when a fox demon appears and claims to be the sender, he seems to be quite sincere. Even chasing away the fox is no use, as he hovers near Horang, repeatedly asking for marriage. Horang’s heart is gradually swayed by the fox’s requests, but, actually, there is somebody he is waiting for. Someone whose name or face he can’t remember, but whom he had held dear even before becoming a mountain lord. Knowing this person might return someday, Horang cannot accept the fox’s proposal.
In the midst of all this, Horang’s mountain finds itself under threat from mysterious evil spirits and shamans that have begun to frequent it…
