The film emperor He Jingqi (賀景祈, Hè Jǐngqí) has long been the subject of speculation regarding his bai yueguang—the “white moonlight” who holds an irreplaceable place in his heart. Chu Ci (初詞, Chū Cí), a rising star in the entertainment industry and a former classmate of He Jingqi, has always dismissed the rumours. That is, until a fateful variety show call reveals her as the one he’s cherished all along.

Their story dates back to their high school days when Chu Ci was known as a poised and stunning figure, akin to a pure white lily. Beneath her elegance, however, was the harsh reality of poverty. When her true lineage was uncovered—she was the long-lost daughter of a wealthy family—her life was upended as she was reclaimed by her biological parents and transferred to a prestigious school.

Unbeknownst to her, He Jingqi harboured unspoken feelings and a love letter he never had the courage to give her. After she left, he resented her absence, only to later learn of the challenges she faced in her new life.
