In the future Anais saw through her dreams, the one who killed her was none other than her husband, the Grand Duke.
“Drink while you listen. These are the divorce papers. It would be best if you signed them.”
After drinking the tea he gave her, she coughed up blood and died, cold and alone.
Prophetic dreams always come true. When Anais awoke from that dream, she swore to survive no matter what.
So, she chose a path that would allow her to escape safely…
“I’d like to propose a contract marriage. When this marriage no longer holds any value, I’ll walk away without a word.”
Since the marriage had been forced on them by imperial decree, she had thought he would be relieved.
But instead, he looked utterly shaken, and when he finally spoke, the Grand Duke’s voice was strained.
“So you’re saying you’ll leave me…”
Seeing a flash of despair in his eyes, Anais couldn’t help but turn over a new, unsettling doubt in her mind.
‘Is this man really the one who will kill me?’

The prophetic dreams that kept haunting her were clear warnings to stay away from the Grand Duke.
In those visions, his sharp words and crimson eyes, filled with contempt, had been unbearably cold.
“Your body was sold to the Grand Duchy, but your heart remains elsewhere. Is that it?”
“I paid to have you, and yet you brought along all those filthy rats with you.”
Yet, strangely, the Grand Duke she met in reality was nothing like that. He was always, unfailingly, kind.
“I came because I wanted to see you.”
“There’s nothing you need to worry about. I promise.”
“I want to stand by your side. Will you let me?”
Caught between his kindness, something she had never experienced, and the grim future looming ahead, Anais had to make a choice.
Should she trust him and move forward together, or should she walk away?
