After graduating from the Department of Theater and Film, Mirang was working as an extra in the movie industry when she unexpectedly landed a significant role in a new film by a famous director.
Her joy is short-lived, however, when the revised script comes back with a passionate bed scene. She was about to give up on her role, but when she saw her older sister struggling to support her, she strengthened her resolve.
Following her senior’s advice to gain experience if she had none, Mirang came to Itaewon to find a partner. There, she offered to help a soldier who had his wallet and passport stolen.
He was perfect for a no-strings-attached practice session.
“Hello? My name is Mirang Kang. Can I help you?”
“No, thank you.”
He rejected her outright, but she couldn’t give up now. Embarrassed, with her ears red and lips trembling, Mirang pushes on, her determination outweighing her shame.
“I help you, you help me. Okay?”
The man stares at her for a long moment before he sighs and nods reluctantly.
“…Okay.”
After paying for his drinks and bringing him to her home, Mirang discovers, to her delight, that he speaks Korean. She eagerly hands him the script, only to face his scorn after he reads it.
“Adult film? So, you’re a p*rn actress?”
“What? p*rno? Are you insane?”
“No?”
“I’m really not that kind of actress! I get that just reading the script might give that impression… but it’s really not that kind of movie.”
After many twists and turns, the two began practicing. What started as strict adherence to the script soon turned into dangerous, breathtaking improvisation.
André de Lafayette never lost sight of his position. Having completed his military service per his family’s tradition, he was returning to New York when he met Mirang by chance. Experiencing his first deviation from a meticulously planned life, he finds his cold blue blood stirred by unfamiliar emotions.
A woman with a flame-like innocence in her heart meets a man with blue blood as cold as ice. Will the flame extinguish first, or will the ice melt away?
This is a retro romance with an analog feel that unfolds between Seoul and New York in the mid-90s.
